I took Local Journalism to fulfill the credits in the major. The best writing experience was partaking in my high school newspaper working on stories about the student council and administration. One thing I am hoping to do is work on sports writing in this class. I am still working in the Sports Information Office at UMD creating digital content through photography and social media. I would like to get better at creating one-on-one conversations. I am used to scenarios of working in sports and going to get one quote from just one person. Along with this, I want to be able to ask questions in press conferences, instead of letting other reporters ask all the questions. In addition, I would like to become good at proofing and editing stories.
